Sand exports are continuing to increase though there is not enough sand for the domestic market, and many traders are taking advantage to push up prices and make a killing, the HCM City Department of Construction said.
Viet Nam’s Government Office on Wednesday issued a document on Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s order to clarify information on increasing construction sand prices in Nguoi lao dong newspaper on May 21.
Prices of sand for construction continue to increase in HCM City, following authorities’ orders to strictly monitor sand mining sites for illegal activity.
Sand prices have soared over the past few days, following the Government’s order to tighten supervision of sand mining, though speculation is more likely to be blamed for the price jump.
